1. “Everyone says, ‘Just rest’ when you’re in burnout—but what if I can’t? Why is that?”
If you can’t rest during burnout, it’s because your nervous system is stuck in fight-or-flight mode, (sympathetic overdrive) or hyperfocus (during lots of work). Your body has been in survival mode for too long, making it hard to switch to rest-and-recharge mode (parasympathetic state). Learning to activate this system through breathwork, bodywork, touch, surrender practices and connecting to others can help you truly rest and recover.
When you’re experiencing trauma or anxiety, it can be difficult to step out of fight-or-flight mode. However, when you learn to de-identify with your wounds, it becomes easier to observe them from a place of distance—from your true Self—rather than letting them take over your consciousness.
From this space and awareness, you can begin to move the energy using tantric practices, simply allowing it to flow through you and be felt. Remember, these experiences are not who you are—they are just passing sensations. As they release, you create more space to fully experience your true Self, allowing your authentic path, a more fulfilling life, to unfold with greater ease. This is what we do during the SOULSTAYWAY REFUGE.
2. “Why does my lower back hurt so much? Is this part of burnout?”
Yes, lower back pain can be a symptom of burnout, often linked to adrenal overuse and depletion. Chronic stress and burnout overuse the adrenals, leaving them depleted and causing deep fatigue and pain in the lower back. This pain often feels like an ache or heaviness, signaling that your body is fully drained and needs deep rest and recovery. The adrenal glands, located on top of the kidneys, produce adrenaline, which is meant for short-term survival—fight or flight situations, not for constantly meeting deadlines or pushing through exhaustion.
Overusing adrenaline is an unhealthy habit that drains your body. It keeps you in a constant state of stress, leading to burnout, nervous system dysregulation, and deep fatigue—especially in the lower back, where the kidneys and adrenals sit.
To heal: Prioritize deep rest, hydration, proper nutrition, nervous system regulation, and stress-reducing practices like breathwork, meditation, touch, and gentle movement. Letting go of the constant adrenaline rush is key to restoring balance and energy. Please remember you are not these stressed conditioned states, you are true Self, a balanced flow of pure energy. Transforming this in your entire system and body can be achieved with a shift in consciousness and tantric somatic practices as we move through with the SOULSTAYWAY.
3. “My doctor gave me antidepressants, but I don’t feel depressed—I just feel empty. What else can I do?”
If you feel empty rather than depressed, it may be a sign of burnout, overgiving and emotional disconnection rather than clinical depression. True healing often comes from reconnecting with yourself, others and your feelings.
Learning to fully relax allows emotions to surface and feel more, all while de-identifying with them and just being the observer from true Self. Presencing practices like slow movement, loving touch, shaking, breathwork, and body awareness help release heavy feelings. By doing these things, you can also start to feel more connected to life itself and a higher vibration. Choosing the right high-vibrational environment, music, and surroundings is essential in supporting this shift. Which I provide at the SOULSTAYWAY REFUGE. Doing things that spark passion and joy will also help you feel more alive, present, and connected again. Something I also help you to tune into when you work with me.
Please note: always also seek help from a licensed healthcare professional when you experience psychological challenges that you feel connected to and comfortable with. I am not here to substitute their work. However, we can work hand in hand and compliment each other.
4. I feel tense all the time, drained, stuck in low energy. What actually helps?”
If you feel tense, drained, and stuck in low energy, your nervous system is likely stuck in fight-or-flight mode. To shift into rest and recharge (parasympathetic state), try somatic practices like presencing, loving touch, surrendering, doing nothing (relaxing your body and mind), shaking, intuitive dancing, moving to music, singing and breathwork—these help release tension and restore energy.
Relaxed walks in nature can also be very effective. Mindful walking, noticing small details in nature, and fully immersing yourself in the moment help calm your system and reconnect you to life. Prioritizing these practices will gradually bring back ease, flow, and vitality. All of these things will come to surface when you enter the free SOULSTAYWAY REFUGE, or when you choose to work with me.
5. “What does science say burnout really is?”
Burnout is more than just feeling exhausted—it’s a state of chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation that deeply affects both the body and mind. Science defines burnout as a condition that occurs when your body has spent too much time in fight-or-flight mode or hyperfocus, relying heavily on the sympathetic nervous system without enough recovery time.
Over time, shifting back into rest and recharge mode (the parasympathetic nervous system) becomes difficult, and in some cases, it may even stop functioning properly. This can lead to sleep disturbances, anxiety, deep fatigue, and emotional numbness.
A key factor in burnout is the frequent overuse of adrenaline—a hormone originally meant for short-term survival in threatening situations. In modern life, however, adrenaline has become a way of coping with work, deadlines, and constant pressure. This is far from healthy for your nervous system and overall well-being, leading to hormonal imbalances, adrenal depletion, and a sense of being completely drained.
Beyond the biological perspective, burnout can also be seen as a deep calling from the soul—urging you to transform your life. Your old ways of living and working are no longer sustainable. It’s time to realign with your true Self path.
The SOULSTAYWAY can help you reconnect with that path, guiding you toward deep rest, nervous system healing, and emotional renewal. Hereby, I also integrate scientific methods as Presencing, that align you to your true path: the emerging future, as used in Leadership Institutes around the world. Accomplished by opening the heart consciousness and relaxing the mind.
6. “Burnout feels like my whole life is falling apart. How am I supposed to keep going?”
You are not supposed to keep going as you were. Burnout is a sign that something in your life needs to change—it’s an invitation to pause and transform. Take a step back and reflect: What no longer fulfills you? What isn’t working? Who or what is draining your energy? Begin limiting these as much as possible. At the same time, focus on the people and situations that uplift and energize you.
Give yourself the space to move through this transformation at your own pace, step by step. Don’t force it—trust that clarity will come naturally. Seek support that feels aligned with you, and allow yourself to receive it.
A key part of healing is learning to observe your wounds, emotions, and inner child without becoming completely identified with them. When you hold space for these experiences from your true Self, the healing process becomes much smoother, helping you reconnect with your authentic path. This is what we work on in the free SOULSTAYWAY REFUGE.
Prioritize body care, self-care, and deep rest. You can support this by incorporating tantric somatic practices like breathwork, slow movement, dancing, chanting, surrendering, mandala meditation, loving touch, or simply feeling the movement of energy and emotions within you. These practices help you return to a state of presence, making it easier to recharge and realign with your true self.
7. “I literally can’t do anything anymore. How do I even begin to get out of this?”
This journey often requires time, rest, deep insights, and transformation. My immersion can support you in reconnecting with a grounded, relaxed state—aligned with your soul and true self—so you can more easily surrender, unfold, and discover your true path.
I encourage you to also work with licensed healthcare professionals, such as therapists, as I am not a substitute for their support. Their guidance can help you fully integrate and transform the parts of you that are ready to move into the light.
It may take time and practice to reconnect with your parasympathetic nervous system (rest & recharge). Give yourself permission to embrace this process at your own pace.
In the SOULSTAYWAY ONLINE REFUGE, I have created a sacred space for you to access this state of deep presence. Here, you are invited to connect with my energy field in whatever way feels right for you—whether by surrendering, opening your heart, singing, lying down, moving, or simply being. Let your body guide you.
8. “Isn’t tantra all about sex? What does that have to do with burnout?”
Tantra is often misunderstood as being solely about sex, but it’s actually a complete system, a methodology for personal (spiritual) development. It includes everything of life itself, all life situations, you don’t have to exclude things.
It can be seen as a holistic practice focused on energy, presence, and deep connection—with yourself, others and life. At its core, Tantra helps you align with your true Self by moving stuck emotions and energy, rather than being ruled by them.
When experiencing burnout, your nervous system can become stuck in survival mode, making it difficult to rest and recharge. Tantric practices—such as breathwork, slow movement, chanting, mandala meditation and energy awareness—help regulate your nervous system and release tension. By learning to observe your emotions without identifying with them, you create space for your true Self to emerge, allowing your authentic path to unfold with greater ease.
9. “Why is SOULSTAYWAY free? What’s the catch?”
Yes, the Online Refuge was created as an act of service because many people came to me to seek support and it will always remain free.
